Hooray!!!!! It’s finally done. After 3 months we have completed our remodel of our fireplace in our main family room. We have done several remodel projects over the years and in both homes we’ve owned and you would think we would learn that it always takes longer than planned. It’s either we are running behind on our part or we are at the mercy of waiting on contractors to finish their part. It was all worth the wait, and I am so excited that my vision all worked out.
One thing we recently learned is if you are planning to do granite and its a small space, ensure you are using someone that has remnant pieces that will save you money. A lot of big home improvement stores want a minimum of $1000 and we were way under that. Thankfully we found someone who does it all and will definitely be using again in other remodels.
For my husbands first time installing this type of stone, it looks fantastic. We were able to find the stone I wanted at a local store in Salt Lake.
The thing to remember when doing a fireplace remodel most companies do not do it all, you will have to contract out pieces of each part.
We are one of the first people in Utah to have this Linear fireplace installed in our home, its a new model. The company we had install the fireplace is excited we finished they will be showcasing our fireplace on their website since no one else has this fireplace yet.
I can’t even tell you what a difference this has made in the look of our home, you walk in and its such a beautiful statement piece. It’s really helped bring this old home into the modern world.
I just wanted to share that we have a finished product and if you like what you see here are some of the companies and materials we used in this remodel.
