Favorite Family Halloween Movies

As you may have already heard, this is my favorite holiday. I love everything about Halloween, the dressing up, the decorating, the candy (duh who doesn’t love an excuse for candy!), and of coarse the fun holiday movies!

So I wanted to put together a list of my favorite Halloween movies, these are family friendly and granted it still depends on the age of your child some can be a little spooky.

#1 Nightmare Before Christmas: This is my #1, I have loved this movie since I was a kid and I am shocked when people say they do not like this. I also love that Disneyland converts the Haunted Mansion to this theme for Halloween time, its amazing!

#2 Hocus Pocus: Another great movie that brings back memories from my childhood.

#3 The Worst Witch: This is an old one and some of you may not know it, but this was Witch and Wizards academy long before Harry Potter was a thought.

#4 Double Trouble: This is a good family one that the kids are sure to love.

#5 It’s A Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: Everyone has to watch this one at Halloween its required.

#6 The adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: Another great classic thanks to Disney.

#7 Ghostbusters: Who doesn’t love this classic!

#8 The Haunted Mansion: This one may scare younger kids some of it can be a little creepy.

#9 Adams Family

#10 Casper

#11 Frankenweenie: I don’t think this is a very popular one, but I love Tim Burton Films.

#12 Corpse Bride: Like I said I love Tim Burton and of coarse Johnny Depp

#13 Beetlejuice: Last but not least this classic

I am sure there are many more I am forgetting, but these are must watch movies for our family during Halloween time. I would love to hear your favorite Halloween movies, you can share them with everyone below in the comments.

  1. These are all my favorite Halloween movies but Hocus Pocus is my absolute fave! I haven’t seen The Worst Witch since I was a kid though. I wonder if it’s on Amazon. I’d love to show that one to my 8 year old. He watched Hocus Pocus with me and loved it! Great post and an awesome trip down memory lane! Visiting from #momsterlink

  3. Charlie Brown is definitely a favourite of mine. Does anyone remember the Garfield halloween special? I used to get creeped out by the ghost pirates! My daughters love Hocus Pocus – we are currently looking for Roald Dahl’s The Witches. My oldest daughter and I read it and she loved every second of it. I haven’t seen the movie in years, but I know she would really enjoy it too! #momsterlink

  4. Oh yes this list is awesomely ghoulish as I am a huge Tim Burton fan! Even my kids love his stuff and request to watch it often. Have you ever seen Coraline? It’s one of my kids favorites this time of year as well. Thank you for sharing this list with #momsterslink.

  5. I never thought of getting videos out for Halloween. Not sure why! Doh!!! I will be looking out for the Charlie Brown one for Monkey as he’s only 3.5 so bit worried the others maybe a little scary although I do remember Beatle Juice & The Worst Witch from when I was a child! Thank you for the trip down memory lane and I hope you have a great Halloween xx #momsterslink

  6. OK I hate to admit this, but I have not seen most of these. Only a few like Charlie Brown & Ghost Busters, but it’s been years! I *think* I saw Nightmare Before Christmas when it came out, but again it’s been years. I’ll have to check these out though. Fun list! I’m stopping by from #momsterslink.
